Meet August

Compassionate, Experienced, Caring

I’m August Kalinosky, a companion and guide for life’s transitions.

I’ve worked as a chaplain in a variety of healthcare settings and learned that end of life and dementia care is where I do my best and deepest work. I’ve built an intimate familiarity with the end of life process and accompanied hundreds of patients at this very sacred time. Offering that accompaniment directly to clients allows me to walk with people in an even more impactful way.

I have a Masters of Divinity in Inter-Religious Chaplaincy and am an INELDA Trained Death Doula. I’ve worked in a variety of health care settings, mostly hospice and mostly dementia care. I have trained in the Positive Approach to Care (Teepa Snow) dementia care approach.

I am a part of and a grateful inheritor of wisdom from a variety of liberation movements, including LGBT+ liberation, disability justice, fat liberation, Autistic self advocacy, Mad pride, environmental justice, and mutual aid. I am an ally to and supporter of many more.

When I am not working, you can find me at the small dogs side of the High Bridge Dog Park, buried in a Sci-Fi book, cooking something nourishing for my family, or lost in thought in my garden.
