Meet August Kalinosky
Compassion and expertise, together.
I estimate I’ve supported around 500 people and their families at end of life in my time as a hospice chaplain. I have a Masters of Divinity in Inter-Religious Chaplaincy, a certificate in Buddhist Chaplaincy, a year-long chaplain residency, and am an INELDA Trained Death Doula. I have trained in the Positive Approach to Care (Teepa Snow Approach) dementia care method. In my time working in hospice, I have developed clinical expertise and a deep familiarity with the end of life process, the heartbreaking parts, the beautiful parts, the messy parts, and the sacred parts.
When you’re ready for support on this journey, I’m ready to walk with you.
I am a part of and a grateful inheritor of wisdom from a variety of liberation movements, including LGBTQ+ liberation, disability justice, fat liberation, Autistic self advocacy, Mad pride, environmental justice, and mutual aid. My personal spiritual home is the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).
When I am not working, you can find me at the small dogs side of the High Bridge Dog Park, buried in a Sci-Fi book, listening to rock and roll music, cooking for my family, or lost in thought in my garden.
